People’s Climate Movement National Day of Action

Peoples climate

Friday, October 9, 4-7PM
Chicano Park, Barrio Logan, San Diego

Last year, hundreds of thousands of students, faith leaders, workers, immigrants, indigenous people, environmentalists, and parents came to New York City for the biggest mobilization on climate ever held – the People’s Climate March.
This year it’s time to keep building what we started there. Not just in New York, but in communities all over the country, including right here in San Diego. RSVP here to join us from 4 – 7 pm on Fri. Oct 9, to demand a just and sustainable future and push back against dangerous trade policies.  We will be meeting in Chicano Park in Barrio Logan with a canvas, art materials, and a megaphone. We are inviting all local artists, activists, and community members to join us for an evening to express our demands of system change, not climate change. And on October 14th (Meeting time and location TBA), we will deliver this artwork to the offices of Representatives Peters and Davis. RSVP here to join us on Oct 9th and Oct 14th (it’s okay if you can only make one day!).
Together, we can achieve a just and sustainable future. Please join us.

1% Land and Water Fund

Help Protect Land and Watersheds for San Diego County

GOAL: To set aside 1% of San Diego County property taxes each year to purchase and maintain park lands, watersheds, open space and recreational land for San Diego County residents. This would not raise taxes, but require county supervisors to reallocate funds in the budget. 1% of real property taxes would be approximately $50 million each year.
