MOSAIC GARDEN RIDE

Let’s combine our Sunday ride with a visit to Lois’ Mosaic Garden. Meet at 9:00 am and we’ll head to Mira Mesa from our regular meeting place, Carmel Valley Community Center, 3777 Townsgate Dr. across from the Del Mar shopping center. After a snack stop in Mira Mesa we’ll stop by Lois’ home to appreciate her unique Mosaic garden on our way back to our cars. Come for the social pace of this ride. Meet at 8:45 am behind the Westfield Mall in Escondido. Take Via Rancho Pky east off I-15 to Beethoven Street, turn left and park in front of the 24 Hour Fitness. This 35-40 mi route explores the semi-rural areas and neighborhoods of Escondido and San Marcos. There will be a snack break. Rain cancels. Leader: Cynthia Katz, 818-823-7099.

VETERANS’ DAY COAST RIDE – OCEANSIDE TO SORRENTO VALLEY

This relatively flat 25 mi ride starts at 10:30 am track-side of the Coaster at the Oceanside Transit Center and ends at the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station at around 1:45 pm. Most participants will drive to the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station (free parking) arriving at about 9:30 am to provide enough time to take Coaster #639 north-bound at 9:48 am which arrives at the Oceanside Transit Center at 10:23 am. SOUTH COUNTY OTAY LAKES JUNIOR EXPRESS RIDE

Meet at 8:45 am at Pepper Park in National City (I-5 to Bay Marina Dr., right onto Bay Marina Dr., then left at Marina Way, right at bend at marina, left into pkg lot. These turns are very quick.) for a 35 mi Junior Express ride to Otay Lakes. This route has elements of my ride to the Olympic Training Center with some segments on busy roads and others on new roads with very little traffic. About 1,700 feet of climbing.
