Please help us defeat a ballot measure in November that would brutally kneecap our efforts to protect Californians from polluting projects threatening our health, natural lands, and wildlife. Proposition 45 aims to roll back laws supporting clean air and water quality by severely limiting critical public oversight of a laundry list of harmful projects, including data centers. Many of the projects our chapter has successfully worked to improve might never have reached a successful conclusion if Proposition 45 had been in place. Proposition 45 is backed by cash-rich PACs representing oil companies, data centers, and industrial developers. It is only with the kind of grassroots efforts we in the San Diego Sierra Club Chapter are so good at that we can defeat this harmful ballot measure. And so, Sierra Club California and our San Diego Chapter have joined other chapters and over 400 labor, conservation, housing, environmental justice, and health advocacy groups in urging our members to join the fight to protect our hard- won environmental laws in California.
With the Trump administration assaulting California’s landmark environmental quality laws, the need to act in November is even more urgent. That is why the California League of Women Voters, Earthjustice, State Building and Construction Trades, and the American Nurses Association all say Vote No. Please go to the No on Prop 45 website to sign up for updates and volunteer opportunities. Together, we say NO ON PROP 45. San Diego Chapter Sierra Club Executive Committee, Lisa Ross, Chair |
