Difficulty Rating: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills, 10-12 mph average pace.
Public transportation is at no cost on October 2nd so you can experience multi-modal travel while reducing your carbon footprint. This relatively flat 25 mi ride starts at 10:30 am track-side of the Coaster at the Oceanside Transit Center and ends at the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station at around 1:45 pm. Most participants will drive to the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station (free parking) arriving at about 9:30 am to provide ample time to take Coaster #639 north-bound at 9:48 am which arrives at the Oceanside Transit Center at 10:23 am. CARMEL VALLEY-RANCHO SANTA FE EXPRESS RIDE
Difficulty Rating: over 35 mi, moderate hills, 12-14 mph average pace.

Meet at 8:30 am at the Carmel Valley Community Center, 3777 Townsgate Dr. We’ll head inland to explore neighborhood communities of Carmel Valley, Sabre Springs, Poway and more along the 56 bike path for a ~35 mi loop. Meet at 8:45 am at the Carmel Valley Park and Ride lot located at 12791 Sorrento Valley Rd just west of I-5 for a 35-40 mi ride. Heading south to UCSD via the Genesee bridge, south to the new Gilman arched bridge over I-5 to UTC area. Head back north for tour through Del Mar Mesa, Carmel Valley, Fairbanks Ranch and return. MISSION BAY TO CICLOSDIAS

Celebrate San Diegoæs fourth annual CicloSDias. After using the bike path along Interstate 15 to get to Adams Avenue we will join the celebration. We will ride through the communities of Normal Heights, Kensington & City Heights along the Adams Avenue corridor for approximately 4 mi of two-way open streets for non-motorized activity. This free open street event is modeled after Bogota, Columbia’s Ciclova, which means bike path. No cars – no congestion – no pollution. Join me for a viewing of about 100 pumpkins carved by the monks at SwamiÆs, the Self-Realization Fellowship as we cycle thru Encinitas. This relatively flat 25 mi ride starts at 10:30 am track-side at the Oceanside Transit Center and ends at the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station at around 2 pm. Most participants will drive to the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station (free parking) arriving at about 9:30 am to provide enough time to take Coaster #639 north-bound at 9:48 am which arrives at the Oceanside Transit Center at 10:23 am.
